About
Born on the West Coast of Africa in Côte d'Ivoire, Momo moved to Brooklyn, NY at the young age of 15. Speaking only his native language of French, he quickly learned English by watching PBS cooking shows by Lidia Bastianich, Mario Batali, Ming Tsai, and Jacques Pepin. Between his exposure to traditional West African cooking and the melting pot of US cuisine, Momo developed a love of cooking very early on in life. This passion eventually lead him to earn a degree in Culinary Arts from Johnson and Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island.Over the subsequent years, Chef Momo traveled all over the United States learning different cooking styles and honing his craft. From New York to Miami to Houston to New Orleans, he spent his time challenging himself to learn about different cuisines, techniques, and culinary experiences. Currently settled in Rhode Island, Chef Momo's most recent project takes the form of Executive Chef at Surf Shack Bed and Breakfast where he creates French-Polynesian masterpieces in the kitchen.Chef Momo enjoys creating personalized culinary adventures that showcase his artistic passions through unforgettable experiences.
